Lucas’s notes
From "Reality Awaits" (2026). I won’t be the first or the last to wonder more than once what on earth Julian was thinking when he drowned his voice in autotune. And although I think it was one of the least popular songs (source: Twitter, who knows), it was the first one that got to me. The way it builds that sense of tension and calm right up to the explosion into the guitar solo is superb. I wish there were less autotune, but then, who cares? After all, I didn’t write "Ode To The Mets". I’d say it’s ideal for holding the same arpeggiated chord sequence for a long stretch, though that’s always been a struggle of mine, so I’m not sure how much you’ll relate. Just play it and wait for the song to explode (once and for all, NOW).
