MAMMAMIA

From "RUSH! (ARE U COMING?)" (2023). I remember how jarring this band felt when my sister first played them to me. They didn’t click with me; they seemed VERY commercial (always the contrarian, eh?), until at some point, which I couldn’t even explain, that changed and they simply struck me as an utterly lovable band of four kids. If there’s one thing about Thomas I liked from the first listen, it’s the idea that you don’t need to be playing all the time, just the right notes at the right moment (inspired by Frusciante, perhaps?). On "MAMMAMIA" he does little more than back the lovely Victoria and her "hot", mysterious bass line; and, though it might not seem like it, that’s exactly what the song needed.
