Lucas’s notes
From "Strangeways, Here We Come" (1987). If there’s one thing that puts Johnny in my top ten guitarists, it’s that wonderful knack of never playing two arpeggios quite alike, and of drawing out, from that "fragility" in the sound, a sensitivity that’s beautiful to hear. A structure that repeats throughout the song (except for the piano intro, not included here), ideal for practising embellishments around a basic chord shape and for strengthening your alternate picking.
